Meet My Horses!
Malin is my best equine teacher! She is super talented and smart--and she is full of herself. She's LBE primarily and has been a challenge. I bought her to have a horse with dressage talent with a way of going very different from my Quarter Horses--I got that, plus a very different horsenality. As Linda Parelli says, warmbloods are the "mules" of the English world! Malin will someday be a star--if I can run fast enough to catch up to her!
Sadie is a Quarter Horse, and my first "levels" horse and the equine love of my heart. I owned Sadie's dam, Bunny, and bred her to the last foal of Quovadis, Kaliman. Sadie went to Pagosa for the first time when she was 3 in 1997 and has traveled thousands of miles all over the country, being an excellent ambassador for Parelli and for me. I started her on the basis of a L1clinic and she carried me through L3 from L1 in 21 months. A very talented, smart, extremely sensitive mare (innately RBE), she has been semi-retired for 4 years.
Kali loves to. . .well, be herself! She's Sadie's filly by Sailing Smart and therefore is half-sister to Smart Seven. She's extremely clever, very athletic but often loves to stand still. Definitely LBI with a dose of LBE. Her talent most likely will have something to do with cows; she is curious, loves to drive others and likes short burst of activity with a good snooze afterwards.
Elli (so named, with Sally's help, from ParELLI) is my Atwood Ranch filly. She is very sweet, talented and full of potential for disciplines like reining. She is RBI and likes to hang out with Kali.
Jet is a lovely 6 year old Arabian who came to me this summer by the generosity of his previous owner, a Level 2 student. He's full of personality (RBE) and affection, and has plenty of "go." He loves striding out on the trails and has good dressage potential.
