Getting Good: Let's Get Our “Good”. . .Better!
Level 3/Level 3 Advancing:
Have you been looking forward to playing successfully at Liberty? To getting such a strong bond with your horse that you’re truly connected when he’s 45 feet away Online? To developing so much emotional fitness and impulsion, along with a good seat connection, that you can ride Freestyle with two Carrot Sticks, but not need to use them? To developing a feel for riding with Finesse?
Whether you’re just starting your L3 journey or are well into it, this course is for you!
During this 5-day course, you will learn basic 45' rope handling skills, Online refinement challenges such as playing with obstacles (including trailers), patterns from a greater distance and at higher speeds, and zone 5 driving. You’ll learn how to understand and practice the basics of Liberty—all 7 games, transitions, changes of direction—in a round pen.
You’ll get help developing an excellent seat connection in Freestyle riding so that you can truly use your reins only for refined communication. True impulsion based on true respect, gained through effective practice of impulsion programs and patterns, will lead you and your horse to that kind of effortless riding. You’ll have the opportunity to refine your understanding of L3 Finesse concepts: longitudinal flexion, bending zone 3, and soft feel. You’ll improve your Friendly and Porcupine games under saddle as you play with rein positions and contact, lateral movements and backing.
And, of course your horse will still be giving you feedback about his horsenality and talents, and you'll be further developing your ability to use that feedback constructively -- to apply love, language, and leadership in equal doses!
Learning how to recognize and develop rhythm, relaxation, and contact in your horse while playing and riding is central to this level. Getting a good understanding of these first fundamental characteristics of collection (which is mental, emotional, as well as physical) will not only prepare you for the challenges of Level 4, but also result in a huge leap forward in your partnership with your horse in Level 3. You’ll learn how to refine your communication, the meaning of “the power of neutral,” how to regulate your energy, and be a leader for your horse with even more effectiveness and subtlety!
